Drupal Content Types Used in this Site

Book:
Projects, IM Practices, IM Guidelines, Training Materials, Site Profiles, Website Help
Books are organized into sections and subsections. A new page is added by clicking on 'Add child page' on the page under which a new page is to be added. Links to the different pages are managed. Book pages may be tagged with keywords from the list of IM categories and/or LTER sites. The former will allow the page to be found in searches the latter will make it show up in the LTER Site Profiles for that particular site.

Story:
News, job advertisements, VTC and meeting notes, annual IMC meetings, virtual updates, training workshops
Basically a single page of information. In the IM website these single stories are organized into groups by using tags. A story can be tagged with the name of project or working group (e.g. NISAC, IMexec etc.) to appear in those sections. To start a new story click on 'Create Content' and select the content type 'story'.

FAQ:
IM FAQs
FAQs are formatted as question and answer and show up together. To write a new IM FAQ click on 'Create Content' and select the content type 'FAQ'.

Project:
Software Developments
Projects are used to manage software developments with formal approaches to issues tracking, release versioning, documentation etc. This is not to be confused with a regular LTER IM project, and should only be used if this formal approach to software development is desired. To start a new software development project click on 'Create Content' and select the content type 'project'. Make sure you remember the url of the software development project and link it from an IM project page.

Forum:
GIS data forum, Unit dictionary forum
A forum is a formal way of organizing a discussion with different threats. Generally, this has not been used extensively by the IMs and a better approach may be to add comments to certain pages in the site. A discussion threat may appear there much more accessible than in a forum. However, if you really want to start a new forum click on 'Create Content' and select the content type 'forum' and follow the instructions. Make sure you remember the url of the forum and link it from an IM project page.
