EML: Practical Application for Scientists by D. Blankman and J. McGann, LNO. This describes EML use at a basic level. Note some important details such as <objectName> and <attributeLabel> are omitted. However, this is a good place to start an introduction to EML. Note that even back in 2003 it was advised that the data url be at the entity level.
